Introduction of YRES

The York Region Educational Services (YRES) is a non-profit firm dedicated to delivering affordable and safe education to all individuals in the York Region. YRES aims to encourage and provide the groundwork for the upliftment and personal development of children (YRES, 2024). They have an exclusive emphasis on affordability as a non-profitable and YRES delivers camps for $185 a week which is lower than the $500 to $600 per week charged by competitors. All community members will continue to have access to education because of our dedication to affordability. The YRES has engaged in collaboration with U+ to deliver superior educational resources. YRES also offers stem classes specifically aimed at younger children, this delivers the skills necessary for them to grow and succeed in a technology-driven world.

YRES operates through the support of volunteers and YRES also works in collaboration with York Region's education institutes, school boards and libraries to access a variety of educational resources. Through these initiatives, children can pursue lifelong learning. The mission of YRES is to ensure that York Region residents have access to reasonably priced but high-quality education. Through community service and collaborations, YRES aims to promote individual development throughout the region.

Project Background and Core Problem

The project aims to provide the execution strategy, crowdfunding, marketing, and cost estimation for YRES's expansion in the Vancouver area. The biggest challenge/core problem for YRES is to achieve market growth in the Vancouver region through the tried-and-true low-price educational model. To achieve this, the YRES requires a detailed assessment of the families in Richmond and Surrey and their educational requirements (YRES, 2024). In addition, the YREs must consider the linguistic and cultural barriers faced while designing the robust infrastructure for the support and delivery of its educational services. These relationships are crucial to sustain the financial success of YRES and to ensure that it becomes the reputable educational service provider in the Vancouver region while covering its operational costs.

When it started

This started with YRES's strategic expansion in Vancouver to succeed in other Canadian cities. This project is design phase and was stated to fulfil the objective of delivering education services to residents of Richmond and Surrey by offering high-quality and affordable summer camps during July and August of 2024. The Vancouver region has an increasing number of immigrant communities and YRES saw this gap and has aimed to deliver them the much-needed inexpensive and easily accessible education.

The current state

YRES is new to the Vancouver region and has to yet prove itself as the top education service provider by understanding and delivering the demands of Richmond and Surry residents. This contrasts with the well-reorganised YRES operations in the Ontario region where it holds an established client base (YRES, 2024). YRES will need to modify its current approach to suit the Vancouver population's needs and preferences. This requires the competitive environment analysis, and ascertaining the quality of educational options to support YRES's objective.

Aims of the Project

The objectives of this project are designing strategic planning and implementation of YRES to complement the unique requirements of the demographic in the Vancouver region. The deliverables of the project are as follows:

The project aims to design the educational program by forecasting the cost of set up of the camp, identifying potential sources of fundraising and effectively marketing the initiates to secure the donation.

The project will deliver a list of 30 potential targeted marketing communication channels for YRES to interact with the community including WeChat and through in-person advertising.

YRES aim to fulfil the summertime educational needs of families of Richmond and Surrey region through its reasonably priced camp programs for kids between 6 to 14 ages in grades 3 through 7.

The project will suggest approaches for encouraging high school students to volunteer and encourage higher community involvement.

YRES will also look for an approach of financial viability and seek partnership opportunities that allow YRES to deliver the camp facilities at a reasonable cost.

The project will also deliver the list of potential sponsors and contributors to YRES.
