Using your knowledge of verbal and nonverbal communication, and the role language plays in societies, read the following scenario and answer the questions that follow it.
You were recently hired by a travel agency as a management coordinator. You have to travel to Adelaide, South Australia to arrange and plan an upcoming conference. Your supervisor is really counting on you to make this conference perfect, so you don't have any room for mistakes. You don't know much about the way your job is supposed to work - you've only been there one week! But you can't let your insufficient amount of time at the company stop you. Use the knowledge you've learned in this course to make an empowered decision that covers the following objectives:
1. Find a nice hotel that has conference room and somehow communicate - verbally or nonverbally - that you need to book a conference room for 50 people, and 50 separate rooms (one for each attendee).
2. Provide information about public transportation system in the area to all the conference attendees, so they know how to go about the city
3. Locate a taxi service that can transport the guests form the airport to the hotel
While you don't have to actually call a hotel and book a meeting for this assignment, you will have to go online and do a little research. Find a hotel in Adelaide that houses conferences. You will also need to look up the public transportation and find a reliable website that breaks down the information in an easy-to-read manner. Lastly, find a taxi service. Include all three web addresses.
