This is yet another film that I have never seen and I found it to be super interesting to watch. This reminded me of 'The Butterfly Effect' which revolved around how different actions led to different consequences and how every decision you make would lead to a different outcome.

Upon watching this film, the character is faced with a challenge; which was his father passing, he then asks for a year off (or a year leave) to rethink his vocation to medicine. While he is running after the train at the station, there are 3 outcomes (all which have to do with whether he misses or catches the train) the first one is he sees his former lover, the second one is he is caught by a guard and sentenced to 30 days of community work, ends up in prison; has an affair and eventually escapes. The third one is he doesn't reach the train, returns to school and married his girlfriend; they become doctors and upon seeing all 3 outcomes, none of these bring happiness to him. When we think about free will versus destiny we think about the things we want to do versus the things that are 'destined for us'. Certain events and outcomes are fated to happen and can't be changed regardless of the actions or choices of an individuals. Free will, on the other hand equates to the concepts that humans have the power to make their own choices and decisions, independent of any predetermined fate or destiny. When referring to that definition and watching the film, it is very difficult to decide which one fits best. Although whether or not he caught the train led to destiny per say, the decisions that he makes after is free will. Let's say he made the train like in his third outcome, okay that can be considered fate; but what if going back to school eventually led to him making bad decisions in the future and he ended up in prison? Many things can happen throughout the way and it would be impossible to decide whether it's fate or destiny. Overall, amazing movie. I enjoyed it.
