Provide disparities in the criminal justice system

Problem: I think there are some disparities in the criminal justice system that are both intentional and a reality that no system is a perfect one. One disparity that some statistics show is that African Americans are more likely than white Americans to be arrested and once convicted are more likely to experience lengthy prison sentences. African American adults are more likely to be incarcerated than whites and hispanics. Our criminal justice does have racial discrimination but there are more systematic disparities in my opinion. Our criminal justice system can be divided into two different systems, one for wealthy people and another for poor people usually minorities. Wealthy people can often times be looked at by the courts as a higher class citizen because of the job title they hold or if they are part of a wealthy family can play a part in a judge or jury's decision to convict that individual. There is a gap between the available cash that is available to post bond and that can weigh in the courts decision. I think if your poor and a minority you stand to have a slight disadvantage when it comes to the criminal justice system some of it systematic and some of it because of racial discrimination.
