Provide an operational definition of ellie behavior

Assignment Problem: Adrianna has a dog named Ellie and Ellie loves to run and play off leash when they go for hikes.  Adrianna worries about Ellie's safety as there are bears and bobcats in the Connecticut woods that could harm the dog is she goes too far from Adrianna.  Ellie already knows commands such as sit, come here, stay with me, and off.  Adrianna trained these with treats and head rubs, and Ellie is very good about following these commands at home.  However, when Ellie is off leash, she ignores Adrianna.  Adrianna decides that she will put a vibrating collar (not a shock - it's like when your phone vibrates in your pocket - no harm to fictional dog in scenario) on Ellie to train her that when she feels the vibration paired with the command come here that Ellie will return when she gets too far ahead.

Provide an operational definition of Ellie's behavior for Adrianna so she know when to apply the vibrating collar paired with the command of come here and be sure to include distances.  Discuss how Adrianna should reinforce Ellie's compliance with the commands off leash and what practice sessions should look like for Ellie.  Provide Adrianna with a prompt fading plan so that she can eliminate the need for the vibration and discuss when Adrianna will know that Ellie is trained enough to be off leash again in the woods and also when she may need to use the vibration once Ellie is trained.
