TASK INTRODUCTION
You work for a company which is researching automated transport. Your team is building parts for a possible fully automated car.
TASK 1
From the specifications produced for your Unit 3 (project design and Implementation) assignment 1, you are required to analyse three possible design solutions for the area of the group project that you have direct responsibility.
At least one method such as matrix analysis, brain storming, mind mapping or forced decision making should be utilised.
TASK 2
Evaluate the three possible designs solutions identified in Task 1 by discussing the following:
- Costs
- Future development potential.
TASK 3
Select the optimum design solution which meets the requirements for the project as a whole and explain why you have chosen this design.
Opportunity for Merit (M1)
Provide a fully detailed explanation of your chosen optimum design using appropriate technical language to justify your reasons.
TASK 4
Produce a 'Design Review Checklist' and complete the checklist against your chosen design.
TASK 5
Produce a final design report explaining the reasons why you have adopted the chosen solution, You will need to structure your report using appropriate techniques and presentation using sketches, charts, graphs and word processing.

Your report must be coherent and present a logical development of your final design detailing the steps you have taken in tasks 1 to 4.
