Promoting growth in global plant biomass

Assignment task:

Please respond.

Greenpeace is an organization which fights for environmental rights. They argue that this is a social movement because climate change and pollution affect everyone. They argue for environmental justice and that everyone should have access to a clean and healthy environment with equal protection from environmental harm. They also argue that climate change affects black, brown and indigenous working-class communities more. One example they gave was that around 31 Alaskan Native communities face threats from flooding and erosion. They also provide an argument for economic costs stating that the solar industry employs more than coal mining and that wind energy is relatively cheaper than coal power. The opposing side argues that climate change isn't real or that it isn't as serious as others believe. Others also argue that increased spending on climate policies would contribute to a higher annual revenue loss for the federal budget and possibly increase taxes. They also argue that our environment is changing and will adapt and there is nothing to be concerned about. They also argue that CO2 is not a pollutant and the additional amounts of it have benefitted the environment by promoting growth in global plant biomass and beneficial to agriculture.
