One of the factors that promote Passive/Defensive Cultural Norms, which include avoidance, at the worker level is goal setting. Goals that are stated in unclear or ambiguous terms or goals that are only marginally accepted by the worker result in avoidance behaviors. Have any of you had experience with being given unclear goals? How did you respond?
