Produce a recommendation based on research use the

Purpose:

Your purpose in writing this proposal and annotated bibliography is to convince a potential client to hire you. You therefore must also convince that person, business or institution that you are most qualified to perform credible research that will answer the client's question in a clear, easy-to-use report.

Audience: Your potential client is your primary audience.

Format: Because you propose to produce a recommendation based on research,  use the proposal on page 250 of our text as a model for your proposal, with one exception: use a business letter rather than a memo format.

Content: Your proposal should include the following sections:

1. Subject and Purpose, in which you describe the problem or question to which you will recommend a solution.

2. Rationale for the Topic and/or Approach-Its Importance as an Issue, in which you summarize the problem in more detail, demonstrating to readers your knowledge on the subject.

3. Issues Addressed in the Proposal, in which you outline the major parts of the report you propose to provide to your client.

4. Methods to Research the Topic, in which you describe the kinds of research and sources you will use and how you will use them.

5. Work Schedule, in which you describe what work you will complete by what deadlines. You will make up these deadlines.

6. Tentative Outline of the Report, in which you provide a detailed outline of the sections your report will include.

7. Initial List of Resources, in which you list at least 5 resources summarized and evaluated in the Annotated Bibliography that you will attached to your proposal as an Appendix.

Purpose: Your purpose in writing this progress report is to assess and articulate what you are learning about critical and professional writing, and to plan how you will develop and continue applying that knowledge.

Audience: Prof. Kanost is your audience and she will reply to your report.

Format: Because this report forms part of a dialogue between you and Prof.

Kanost, please use a memo format. Check the section on memos in your textbook to make sure you use the format appropriately. You should put your name, my name, your subject and the date in memo format. You do not need to double space.

The file should be labeled "Reflective Progress Report 1."

The assignment: Assess the progress of your writing by reflecting on your work for
Assignments 1 and 2.
Note the questions below that you should answer in this report, then plan what sections your report will have and how you will format your answers so that they are clear and full yet concise.
