Tasks:
1. Produce a project plan for building a house. Follow the phases and tasks shown on the web page. You can click on each to see background information on that phase or task, so you can better understand it. You can present this project as a "Project Task Sheet" using Excel. Include the following in your sheet:
• Provide each task with a task ID number
• Show phases, tasks and sub--tasks - use indentation of the tasks to represent this. Each takes a single row in the spreadsheet.
• Show the prerequisites for each task - set up a column with the taskIDs of any pre--requisites for each task.
• Provide a "Procurement" column. Mark the task with X in this column if the task is a procurement phase/task/sub-task.
• You do not need to arrange tasks in strict chronological order, but do try and make it logical and easy to read.
• Add a column called "comment". This can be left blank for nonprocurement tasks.
2. For each of the tasks you find, highlight those that are procurement-related and consider the dot points below. Where procurement-related tasks should be used (but are not mentioned), add detailed procurement/purchasing tasks that must be undertaken and create tasks to represent these.
• If the tasks are extra to those in the website, add these tasks to your Project Task Sheet
• Integrate new tasks with the other tasks
• Highlight all procurement tasks with X in the "Procurement" column
• In the "comment" column for each procurement task, write 2 to 3 sentences explaining:
• what the task is
• the forms/templates/documents associated with it (see next section). You can use the document's "reference number"
• Methods for ensuring integrity of the task (eg. Sign-offs, inspections, etc).
3. Provide a list of procurement-related documents that are associated with your procurement plan.
• You should create a useful title for each document.
• You do NOT need to design the documents - only the title is required.
• Provide a one sentence description of the document's purpose
• You may wish to create a document "reference number"
• Cross reference this list with the procurement tasks in your project plan
• You can put this list in the same spreadsheet as the plan.
In designing your procurement plan, consider that it needs to:
• Define Requirements
• Select Suppliers
• Produce Agreement
• Administer Day-to-Day
1. Procurement Integration Assignment (Individual)
In this assignment you will integrate procurement tasks into a project. Have a look at the following website: https://www.infoforbuilding.com/build--a--house.html. It outlines the steps required to build a house. Note that is also offers materials for sale. You are NOT required to purchase anything from this site. Use it only for information to complete your project.

Your mark will be based on the strength of your plan, its integrity, and its efficient integration into the project. A marking guide will be issued shortly on BB.
2. Project procurement Assignment (Individual)
In this assignment you will create a Request For Tender (RFT) document that is to be issued to a single sub--contractor to build all aspects of a large residential house such as the one in the individual integration assignment.
You should consider the following in preparing this RFT:
• You will need to research formats for the RFT document you will be producing. This will include an understanding of what the sections of an RFT should be and what should be included in it (and what shouldn't)
• Refer to the "Individual Integration Assignment" to help you plan your RFT.
• You need to make the RFT realistic but it does not have to be precise, and you can make assumptions.
• Your RFT should also address the assessment process.
3. Case Analysis (Individual)
They report on the aspects of massive problems for the National Broadband Network (NBN) project.
Using the principals you have learnt in this unit, and researching relevant information related to this project, answer the following questions:
1. What are the procurement problems you found in this case
2. For each problem you found, what solution would have prevented it.
Support this with at least one external reference (not the text book).
3. What are the complications that large, nationally important projects impose on the procurement process.
Approximately 10 Pages in length.
