Assignment:
Explain the procedure used for the following:
The resident is an alert, 65 year-old male. A fractured hip occurred when he fell at home. He lived alone up until this time. He was hospitalized following surgery and received physical therapy while in the hospital. He has Medicare and an adequate medi-gap insurance plan. He is alert and oriented. He shows no signs of mental illness. He suffers from COPD, occasional CHF, and osteoporosis. He has a room that is certified for Medicare only. The nursing home facility's physician explains the treatment plan, which includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, and a low salt diet. The resident has no complaints, except that he is happy to be wheeled around in the wheel chair by the staff, refuses PT and OT. Also, he hoards a salt shaker and takes his meals in his room. What is your plan? Be accurate and complete in your response, including the new Accidents and Supervision Regulation, implemented August of 2007.
Your answer must be typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one-inch margins on all sides, APA format.
