Problem related to patient with coronary artery disease


Assignment task:

A 59-year-old male patient with coronary artery disease of the native arteries was admitted to the hospital for scheduled four vessel aortocoronary artery bypass grafts using the left leg's great saphenous vein grafts (harvested by an open approach) performed under cardiopulmonary bypass. Postoperatively, the patient developed pulmonary emboli that were treated successfully with no catastrophic consequences. After 3 days in the surgical ICU, the patient was transferred to a surgical floor monitored closely. Phase I of cardiac rehabilitation was started on day 4, and the patient was able to be discharged on day 7. The patient will be seen in the surgeon's office 7 days later and is scheduled to begin Phase II cardiac rehabilitation within the next month.
