Problem: Leni is a support worker for an organisation that provides home care. One of her clients is a man called Amit. Amit had an accident a year ago and suffered a brain injury, meaning he was unable to go back to the job he had prior to the brain injury. Both Amit and his parents would like it if Amit can find a few activities that he can do each week that would help him meet people and interact with the community, as he has not really got out of the house much since his accident. Initially, Leni sits down for a meeting with Amit and his parents, where she asks Amit targeted questions intended to find out what he enjoys, what kind of community participation he might be interested in and what he would like to get out of a community participation experience. Amit's parents are in attendance because they can help when Amit can't find the right words to use, which happens sometimes because of his brain injury. After this meeting, Leni speaks to some external community organisations, her supervisor and does some of her own research and comes up with a list of different community participation options
