Problem:
The Lin family arrives at your office 10 minutes early for their scheduled session. Present for this session were Bruce Lin (father, 52 years old), Jackie Lin (Mother, 44 years old), Mike Lin (son, 20 years old), Sarah Lin (daughter, 17 years old), and Bobby Lin (son, 14 years old). All five members of the family presented accepting to the therapeutic process. As the family began to share their story, you become aware that Bruce is a biologist and Jackie is an optometrist. Mike and Sarah are both in college, and Bobby is a high school standout (academic and athletic). When you ask how you can be of assistance, all members looked to Bruce as he said, we are a typical family that looks good, but we are not doing well. Jackie jumps in and shares that Mike is in a relationship with another man, Sarah has started a serious relationship with a boy of a different ethnic group (she is only seventeen, says Bruce), and Bobby has taken to marijuana as most people take to walking. Bruce interrupts his wife Jackie and states that they do not know if Bobby is using
