Problem: Female patient with migraine headaches that occur once every one to two weeks has been taking sumatriptan and it works well. She's on oral contraceptives, and is now being started on Prozac. When considering drug-drug interactions
- Discontinue sumatriptan and change to naratriptan for longer half life
- Stop sumatriptan because of risk for pregnancy
- Talk with patient about history of hypertension and coronary artery disease
- Switch sumatriptan to daily Elavil
