Problem regarding suffering from major depressive disorder

Assignment Task:

Martin is a 45-year-old mail carrier who lives with his wife. Martin is the sole breadwinner of the family and works five days a week for eight hours each day. Martin has decided to come into our clinic after he was recently reprimanded at his job due to poor work performance. Martin reports that he has always been a stellar employee but that within the last year he has started to experience difficulty concentrating at work. Martin states that he worries about everything including his finances, his dogs, his elderly parents, and even if the lawn needs mowing. The most common worry for Martin is his bills ever since his wife lost her job a year ago. Martin recognizes that the family's finances are more important than the lawn being mowed; however, both cause his uncontrollable feelings of worry. Martin's worrying has gotten quite immense as the months grew; he began to shut himself away from his wife, friends, coworkers, and family. In addition, he started to have trouble sleeping, muscle tension, and fatigue. Martin's hope is to be able to focus on his work again, improve his relationship with his loved ones, alleviate his physical pain, and be able to control his worrying. • If you were a mental health professional, state what types of treatment(s) you would engage this person in and why. Consider things like their age, gender, physical and mental state. (I.e., if the client is disabled and is unable to walk and suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, telling them going to the gym may not be ideal for them. However, something like joining a book club with friends may be helpful to them.) Want Assignment Help?
