With these strategies in place, the number of cues Neil needed throughout the day to use his schedule decreased. Although Neil became more independent with his memory compensation device routine, he continued to need occasional reminders to check his schedule even after 8 months of treatment. The team investigated other strategies during this time period, but wearing a "normal" watch and discreetly carrying a paper schedule were the only options Neil considered acceptable. Because Neil implicitly learned through repetition of routines occurring on a daily basis (i.e., meals, ADLs), the team considered making his entire schedule exactly the same each day. As with most young adults, however, Neil preferred a variety of leisure activities and the option of changing or adding activities spontaneously to his schedule. Hence, this idea was not put into operation. The team introduced implementation and mastery of all remaining routines included in Neil's rehabilitation program in the same manner with modifications made as appropriate. Need Online Tutoring?
