Problem: Bio-psychosocial assessment.
Sam is a 42-year-old male of Chinese heritage, who is currently living with his 40-year-old wife, Debra. They have three very active children ages 10, 12, and 14. Sam has been a computer programmer at a large company for 15 years and is a respected colleague at the company. In the past month, Sam has suffered from frequent stomachaches and headaches, which led him to visit his doctor. He has not been sleeping well for the past three months. Sam has a conflictual relationship with Debra and they often argue over parenting issues and priorities with their three active children. Recently, Sam's mother who is a 73-year-old widow, was diagnosed with liver cancer. He has a close relationship with his mother who lives two hours away and Sam typically visits her one weekend per month. Sam does not have an active social life and he spends most of his time either at work or with his family. Sam's wife is a policy analyst for their city budget department and works long hours. She spends time assisting with the needs of her own parents and those of her children. Requirements for this written assessment include that it will be formally written and be four pages in length.. As this is a fictional case, you may add any necessary, missing information.
