Problem: A 32-year-old woman with a history substance abuse disorder, specifically heroin, comes to see you for a vaginal discharge. Her pregnancy test is positive. She is unmarried, and has had 2 other children removed from the home by children's services. She states that she has been using (drugs) pretty heavily, and doesn't know when her last period was. She states "I don't really believe in abortion, but I think this kid will probably be pretty messed up. What do you think I should do?"
