Problem:

If an excess of nitrogen and carbon dioxide gas bubbles accumulate in the sand media of the denitrification filter, what will happen? O The CO, will become carbonic acid and drive the pH down • The filter will experience high head-loss • The nitrogen will dissolve into the water causing an increase in effluent total nitrogen • The filter sand will become too bouyant and wash out with the filtered water
