Assignment task: Professional Development Goals A nursing portfolio is a great resource to have in your career development. It adds your own personal brand. It adds more depth to you as an individual than a resume. It is an essential tool in demonstrating professional accomplishments (Burns, 2018). It will be a great weapon to develop in my arsenal for networking. One of my professional development goals is to take up more leadership opportunities. I have only been a RN in my field for a little over a year now. I want to start pushing myself by looking for different leadership roles. One that I already have reached out to my manager for is training to be house supervisor. Learning how to be a house supervisor and to be able to manage a shift for the whole hospital will be very beneficial for my career. It will also give me an opportunity to network even further. My second goal is to become a better networker. It has never been my strong suit and it is something that I realize is very vital for my future. I want to improve my relationships with co-workers.
