By utilizing all source intelligence, we are more prepared to collect as much data as possible; though, not all may be useful. Human Intelligence allows for a person, whether recruited or detained, to access classified information, the motivations of the group, and their pattern of life. HUMINT will give us a good glimpse of what is going on first-hand by exploiting, controlling, supervising, or supporting this source. Signals intelligence (SIGINT) will enhance our mission planning by detecting and locating targets through airborne direction finding techniques that can reveal enemy defensive positions and capabilities (Federation of American Scientists). Imagery intelligence (IMINT) will provide much needed information in regards to visual photography to represent objects in the MENA region. IMINT has a variety of platforms and media to help pinpoint target positioning. Measurement and Signals intelligence (MASINT) has the ability to collect intelligence on radar, nuclear, and unintentional radiation intelligence. Withbeing unsure of how serious al-Qaeda's threat is, we are able to explore all aspects of their operations. Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) will allow for the exploration of all freely available information in the public domain. By accessing this information from sources such as Facebook and Twitter, we have the ability to quickly and easily collect and understand the key issues to help support our assessment (Federation of American Scientists).
