Problem on performance on neuropsychological assessments

Assignment task:

Neil's performance on neuropsychological assessments revealed significant deficits in memory, with scores on immediate recall, delayed recall, and recognition tasks falling within the borderline to impaired range. He evidenced substantial decay of information over a relatively brief time (e.g., 20 minutes) and could not retrieve information spontaneously or even recognize target information after that delay. Neil also demonstrated a general slowing of cognitive processing speed, impairments in divided attention, and significant ataxia. Consistent with the speech-language evaluation findings, Neil demonstrated relatively intact language functioning, with average performance on confrontation naming and abstract language reasoning tasks and superior performance on a vocabulary task. The only areas of language functioning with suppressed performance were ones requiring rapid responses and verbal fluency. These challenges appeared to stem from slowed processing speed. From a behavioral perspective, Neil demonstrated substantial executive dysfunction, frequently erupting in angry outbursts when frustrated by his inability to perform tasks that were formerly not problematic for him. He was quick to anger and tended to exhibit behaviors disproportionate to the circumstances, such as yelling, cursing, and fleeing the location. Further complicating Neil's cognitive deficits and difficulty applying compensatory strategies was a general lack of awareness and insight. Neil did not demons. Need Online Tutoring?
