Comment on this post: With Amazon being such a large company, any negotiations between employers and employees can greatly influence margins and profits for the company. To stop employees from unionizing great working conditions, benefits, and pay packages must be offered to employees. Along with safe working conditions and pay, a company must offer a stress-free working environment including deterring harassment and discrimination. Amazon has raised their minimum wage to 15 dollars an hour hoping to be competitive with what other employers are offering (Palmer, 2022). Amazon must stay union-free because union workers on average earn 28 percent more than non-union workers and with Amazon employing more than a million people in the United States, a wage raise of just one dollar would cost the company millions of dollars more per hour. (Getchell, 2022). Company culture and employee satisfaction must be monitored closely to understand what is happening. As a manager, you must put pressure on employees to execute the strategies and ethical standards that are put in place and initiate corrective action that is needed (Thompson, 2021).
