Problem- health insurance portability and accountability act

Assignment task:

Since the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) passed in 2004, patient consent/confidentiality has been pivotal in the healthcare industry.  Patient confidentiality refers to the right of patients to keep their records private regardless of necessary or unnecessary medical treatments. It represents physicians' and medical professionals' moral and legal obligations in handling patients' procedures, treatments, and sensitive medical and personal information.  The question may arise at times whether political officials should be required to pass policies regarding cosmetic treatments.

Case study research on Brazilian Butt Lift policies in the state of Florida.  Define what patient confidentiality in healthcare means to you.  Evaluate this rights issue about consent and/or confidentiality. Give a summary of the research you obtained. Which laws can be associated with it? What actions are/were being taken? Who are the interested parties (explain in detail and provide statistics)? What are the benefits and consequences of it in any healthcare setting? Do you agree or disagree with it and why? Will/should it affect other states within the U.S.A. (give examples)?
