Patient confidentiality refers to the right of patients to keep their records private regardless of necessary or unnecessary medical treatments. It represents physicians' and medical professionals' moral and legal obligations in handling patients' procedures, treatments, and sensitive medical and personal information. The question may arise at times whether political officials should be required to pass policies regarding cosmetic treatments.
