Problem concerning chemotherapy

Problem: 43 year-old Michael had an implantable vascular access device placed seven weeks ago for chemotherapy. This is administered each week in the ambulatory surgery department of the hospital. The full cycle is now complete, and the vascular access device is no longer needed. Dr. Stone surgically removed the centrally tunneled venous catheter. No services for the carcinoma of the sigmoid colon are provided. The cancer has not been resected yet because the chemotherapy was utilized in an attempt to shrink the tumor before surgery was initiated. Assign the correct codes for this encounter. ICD-10-CM code, first-sequenced: ICD-10-CM code, secondary: CPT code: Hint 1: This encounter is not to treat the cancer; it is for removal of the catheter. ICD-10-CM main term removal. The cancer should also be coded and sequenced after the code that supports the removal of the catheter. Hint 2: CPT main term removal, subterm catheter. Need Professional Help?
