THE WIFE BEATER:
You are a police officer who has been dispatched to a domestic violence call. When you arrive, the female victim runs out of the house screaming, "Help me! He's going to kill me!" You notice the victim's left cheek is cut, her right eye is swollen, and her dress is torn. You ask her to tell you what happened. She says, "I've had it with his drinking and fooling around! I told him to pack his things and get out! That is when he started hitting me!"
When you enter the home to question the defendant, you are surprised to see Officer Todd Stewart from your police department. He is obviously intoxicated. He says, "Thanks for coming out here, but things are cool. I admit I got a little out of hand, but it's under control. She's just easily excitable and blows things out of proportion."
