Problem about tragic global disasters in recent history

Assignment Task:

One of the most tragic global disasters in recent history is the 2010 earthquake in Haiti. On January 12, 2010, a massive 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit just 16 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. The damage was immediate and devastating, destroying buildings, homes, and entire communities in seconds. Over 230,000 people lost their lives, more than 300,000 were injured, and around 1.5 million were left homeless. The scale of destruction was unimaginable, and the country's already weak health care system was completely overwhelmed (Pan American Health Organization, 2011). Health care workers faced immense challenges in the aftermath. Many hospitals and clinics were destroyed, and there was a shortage of everything-medical supplies, equipment, and personnel. Doctors and nurses were forced to treat severe injuries like amputations in non-sterile conditions, which increased the risk of infection. With the country lacking basic necessities like clean water, food, and shelter, disease outbreaks, including cholera, became a major threat. Want Professional Help?
