I know these two things are fairly unrelated to each other, but I came to epidemiology initially through the loss of a loved one to lung cancer. Through my studies, I completed an epidemiology internship through the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, where I had the chance to complete an independent research study on the impact of doula care on Black birth outcomes and maternal health.
