Problem about cognitive biases and behavioral processes

Assignment task:

In individual CBT, therapy is based on the patient's specific cognitive biases and behavioral processes. Therefore, it means that this approach enables individual and focused therapeutic interventions that work in favor of the patient (Ong et al., 2022). In group CBT, the dynamics of the group can sometimes influence the process, as the challenge in this learning environment is to maintain the participation of all members, given that individuals work at different paces. This involves good facilitation skills and setting a good working culture that allows the individuals to open up with respect for others . Furthermore, the aspect of confidentiality in a group setting may be quite challenging at times, and thus, the PMHNPs need to explain the issue of privacy.

Family CBT is concerned with relationships and relationship patterns as well as the enhancement of the communication system in the family. Moreover, one typical issue in this context is when some of the family members refuse to participate in the therapeutic process, mainly due to power dynamics or pathogenic interpersonal transactions (Wheeler, 2020). Consequently, PMHNPs play a vital role in assisting families in learning how their behaviors influence the patients' mental health and in fostering collaboration
