Discussion:
Probability of movie sales
The probability that person going to a movie will buy a soft drink is 0.20; the probability that the person will buy popcorn is 0.40; and the probability that the person will buy both a soft drink and popcorn is 0.10. If one movie-going person is selected at random, what is the probability that:
A) He/she will buy popcorn or a soft drink?
B) He/she will buy a soft drink, given that he/she has bought popcorn?
C) He/she will buy neither a soft drink nor popcorn?
