Probabilities for rolling the two dice


Suppose that a 12-sided die and a 3-sided die are rolled and the sum of the numbers that appear is determined. The numbers on the 12 faces of the 12-sided die are as follows: 1,2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7. For the 12-sided die assume that each face is equally likely to turn up and for the 3-sided die assume that each face is equally likely to turn up. Determine the values on the 3-sided die so that the outcome probabilities for rolling the two dice described above match exactly the outcome probablities for rolling two standard (6-sided) dice.
