Prevention and Community Action:
A number of preventive action are necessary. Alcohol prevention programmes can have major effects on alcohol problem rates, and can influence the drinking behaviour even in the heaviest drinkers. Regulatory changes in alcohol availability, interplay of community action programmes and mass media education can be effective.
1) Development of literature on common problems, in a broader sense, which is appealing to the public.
2) Analyse the effect of increase in the cost of alcoholic beverages and assess the mass behaviour on drinking habits.
3) Law Enforcement on drinking and driving, drinking and working, etc. need to be looked into.
Diverse cultural and physical enviroment adopted to prevent alcohol related problem, need to be looked into. Drug abuse related to low scholastic performance, lack of religiousity, early alcohol use, low self-esteem, ~sychopathology, poor relationship with the parents, lack of social confimity, sensation seeking, perceived peer drug use, perceived adult drug, etc. The most likely age to experiment drug use is between 12 to 14 years. The following points may be kept in mind to prevent drug abuse. Giving factual information about drug to the adolescents, fbcussing attention on its dangers. Humanistic education aimed at increasing. Self-esteem and interpersonal skills. Teaching adolescents the skills needed to resist the social pressures to begin drug use.
