Each student must submit a personal Student Biography.
Present a well-rounded picture of yourself, both as a student and individual. Avoid long explanations or specific details on any one event or accomplishment. Avoid the use of descriptive adjectives or adverbs. Just the facts, please. Keep a public audience in mind when deciding on content and tone.
Include the following in your biography:
- First and Last Names
- Class Year

- What High School You Attended
- Specific High School Honors or Awards (these become less relevant for junior & senior college students)
- ETSU Academic Experiences (you should transition to this point by your second or third sentence)
- ETSU Extra-Curricular Interests / Accomplishments (focus on academics first)
- Career Interests and/or Plans for the Future
The paper must meet the following guidelines:
- At least 150-200 words in length;
- Double spaced;
- Standard one inch margins on all sides;
- Times New Roman / 12 point font; and
- Correct spelling and grammar.
