Assignment Instructions:
Complete each of the Parts below based on this scenario.
Case Scenario:
You have previously prepared sketches and drawings for a double garage and workshop for clients David and Tara King. The couple has had the site plans prepared for construction of their new home and double garage. They have organized an on-site meeting with you to discuss their future plans to build their first home, including a variation to the proposed double garage.
David and Tara have supplied you with their sketch of the proposed residence over the site plan
Part 1:
Part 1.1 -Complete the table below by listing five types of drawings you will need in order to prepare a quotation and explain the construction process.
Part 1.2 -Write a brief explanation (approximately 50 words) of each of the aspects of drawing listed below.
Part 2
You will need the drawings you prepared for assessment 32633/01 to complete this Part.
Scenario:
The clients, David and Tara King, are satisfied that the double garage with workshop will allow on-site storage of most construction materials while they build their new home. The rainwater tank will suffice and cater for all new vegetation they have planted at the rear of the property.
The Kings would now like you to prepare a sketch plan of the proposed single-storey residence as shown in Appendix A (see page 9). You can choose to re-draw the new site plan from scratch, make a scanned copy or reuse your original site-plan sketch (as outlined in the previous assignment) to include the King's residential footprint.
Follow these instructions to prepare drawings that reflect the client's variation to the original plans.
Part 2.1 -Drawing: Repurposed Site Plan

- Two elevations (your choice of sides)
- One section through the building
- The roof plan (view from the top, no structural elements to be included)
Your drawing must:
- be drawn freehand, at a scale of 1:50on A3 size paper, or across multiple pages
- show the natural lighting to the garage (e.g. skylight, window/s)
- include the 2,000-litre rainwater tank showing tie-in plumbing with piping
- use international conventions, including object labels and notation
