An assessment of existing conditions at the Re-solve hazardous waste site necessary in order to prepare plan for cleaning the site. The 6-acre Re-solve hazardous waste site is an abandoned solvent-reclamation facility in a rural area. As a result of past disposal practices, contamination of soil, groundwater, surface water has been documented at the site. In order to assess existing conditions, fifteen soil borings and six test pits are required. Each soil boring requires one drilling rigs and is estimated to take 1 1/2 days to complete. Each test pit requires a backhoe and is estimated to take one 1/2 day to dig and another 1/2 day to obtain samples and study the exposed excavation. It is requested that all soil borings be completed and analyzed before the test pits begin, and the data for each test pit beta collected before a new pit is excavated. Soil borings require 5 days for analysis. Prepare a linear schedule showing the completion of the site investigation using (a) one drilling rig and (b) three drilling rigs.
