Powers of the Attorney General
Whereas under sec 26(3) the Attorney General is empowered for as;
- Undertake and Institute criminal proceedings against any person before several courts other than a court martial to any alleged offence.
- However take over and continue several criminal proceedings instituted through any other body or person.
- Conversely discontinue as any stage before judgement is delivered several criminal proceedings instituted or undertaken through himself or any other person or body, through entering the so called Nolle Prosecuice "I refuse to prosecute"
- Further order the commissioner of police to investigate any alleged or supposed suspected criminal acts. Whenever the commissioner must oblige and report to the Attorney General.
