Position papers should address a topic about which reasonable scholars can (and do) disagree. Below you will find a list of suggested topics, though you may also choose to come up with your own.
In writing your paper, be sure to:
1. Clearly state the issue and your position on the matter.
2. Provide evidence to support your position.
3. Consider opposing arguments. What might an opponent argue during a debate?
4. Provide counter-arguments and defend your own position.
5. Where appropriate, cite readings from the syllabus.
