Political implications of the philadelphia story

Problem:

Write a response to this: The political implications of "The Philadelphia Story" are perhaps in part to signal a shift from film focusing on ideas of populism, about the difficult lives of unemployed and working people, to films about the lives of wealthier individuals, dealing with the questions that wealthier individuals face. Therefore perhaps it can be said that the political implications of the film's message were to emphasize a class of affluent individuals, who's everyday worries and concerns differ considerably from those faced by working, or unemployed people. In such a way the film may serve to guide the attention of its audiences away from their worries, and for the duration of the film, towards the worries of the affluent class of people who's lives are shown on the screen. Despite focusing mostly on individual behavior, this film does not become entirely apolitical, since it's message and the world it shows remain aimed at giving the viewer an escape from the reality of their life, and a window into the lives of wealthier individuals. In such a way therefore the film departs from populism, and instead edges towards a theme of showing individual plights, with an added emphasis on individual ethics and rules of conduct between wealthy individuals.
