Photoorganoheterotrophs and Chemoorganoheterotrophs - Nutritional Types
(1) Photoorganoheterotrophs - These microorganisms use light as a source of energy and organic compound as electron and carbon source. Example: purple and green nonsulphur bacteria.
(2) Chemoorganoheterotrophs - These microorganisms use organic compound as a source of energy, electron and carbon. Example: protozoa, fungi and most non- photosynthetic bacteria.
