Spirtual belief
Project description:
Many perspectives of the human spirit and its relationship to the mind and body are found in faith-based organizations and belief structures. Often highly personal in nature, the belief systems within which we were reared often shape our attitudes toward death and what might follow physical death. Keep in mind, in health care professions, others have diverse ideas on end of life and spirituality beliefs.
Reflect on your own personal belief system and its similarities and differences when compared to that which characterized your home of origin.
Many of these beliefs will likely continue to change throughout your lives.
Write a short description of your thoughts and considerations (e.g. convictions, doubts, concerns, etc.) regarding the end of life. How do you feel that spirituality/religious beliefs impact one’s development?
How can or should healthcare providers integrate spirituality into end of life care?
Spiritual beliefs and religious beliefs may differ according to one’s perspective with Spirituality having “no rules” and religions having formalized doctrines.
