Permeability of Moulding Sand is the property of the sand, which permits the gases and steam to escape through the sand mould. For this purpose, the sand must be porous. Permeability of the sand depends on size of the sand grains, shape of the grains, moisture contents in the mould sand, compactness density and bonding content etc.
