Assignment Task: Telehealth Postpartum Care Visit
You are a nurse on the maternal child unit of your hospital. Your hospital performs telehealth postpartum visits on patients within the week after hospital discharge. You have been assigned the three patients below: Summer Moore Cecilia August Jessica James Please review the discharge summary for each of these patients. You will see information regarding their pregnancy and hospital care. Identify key areas to assess for postpartum patient/newborn that you and your partner(s) will address. You will see a template at the bottom of the discharge instructions. Remember, Identify and Analyze Cues, Prioritize a hypothesis (Priority Nursing diagnosis or need), and develop a Plan of care (Generate solutions/Take action). You will have 30 minutes to meet with one of the patients whose cases you have prepared. You will have several minutes to make a plan with your partner once you learn which patient you are seeing. After your encounter, do not leave the meeting. Your patient will provide you with verbal feedback on your interpersonal skills during the encounter.
