Perception-memory and vision

In terms of each person's worldview, it is of utmost importance how our own perceptions not only inform our behaviors but also the relevance of certain aspects in the environment over others. For example, consider the potential influence of an optimistic or pessimistic worldview on perception. Rather or not one tends to opt only for the positive within each person or the positive perspective compared to always expecting the worst or viewing the world via a guarded form of skepticism or doubt cannot help but to inform the way one perceives the environment. At the cognitive level, how do you think either view relates to other processes such as memory or vision, both within the physical and intuitive sense? In addition, what would you suggest are the implications of each perspective on someone's ability to be objective and unbiased in perceiving aspects of a phenomenon, if at all?
