Question 1: Find out the percentage error in Q-measurement introduced by the 0.02Ω insertion resistances. The resonating capacitor is 135pF and oscillator frequency at resonance is 3MHz. The resistance of the coil is around 10Ω.
Question 2: The given observations were made while testing a high Q-factor coil by means of a circuit magnification meter:
a) With the test coil joined to the inductor terminals, resonance was obtained with the resonating capacitance of 380 pF at a frequency of 1 MHZ.
b) With the standard coil joined to the inductor terminals, it was found that, at a frequency of 9.6 MHz joining the test coil parallel with the standard coil didn’t change the resonance. Find out the distributed capacitance of the coil under test.
Question 3: Compute the maximum velocity of a beam of electrons in a CRT containing an anode voltage of 800 volt. Suppose that electrons to leave the cathode with 0 velocity. Charge of electron = 1.6×10-19 C and mass of electron = 9.1×10-31 kg.
Question 4: An electrically deflected CRT consists of a final anode voltage of 2000V and parallel deflecting plates 1.5 cm long and 5mm apart. If the screen is 50cm from the center of deflecting plates, determine:
a) Beam speed
b) The deflection sensitivity of the tube
c) Deflection factor of the tube.
Question 5: A CRT has an anode voltage of 2000V and parallel deflecting plates 2 cm long and 5mm apart. The screen is 30 cm from the center of plates. Determine the input voltage required to deflect the beam via 3 cm. The input voltage is applied to the deflecting plates via amplifiers containing an overall gain of 100.
Question 6: Compute the velocity of the electron beam in an oscilloscope if the voltage applied to its vertical deflection plates is 2000V. As well compute the cut off frequency if the maximum transit time is 1/4of a cycle. The length of horizontal plates is 50mm.
