Patient with established diagnoses of COPD, CAD, and hypothyroidism. He recently completed a dose of Cipro and steroids. Now reports increased shortness of breath. No fever, chills, edema, angina, or other cardiac symptoms. Temperature, normal. Historically on oxygen. ENT negative, no adenopathy. There is some wheezing and minimal rales. Heart normal for patient. Abdomen negative, no edema. ASSESSMENT: Exacerbation of COPD Administered Solu-Medrol, 100 mg IV, 45 minutes, Kenalog 60 mg IM. Given prescription for Levaquin 500 mg as directed and discharged.
