Patient presents with a recurrent large skin abscess

Problem:

Davis presents with a recurrent large skin abscess. Determine the best choice for treatment. Oral vancomycin is prescribed because there has not been a significant resistance found. Incision and drainage are recommended for all of his skin abscesses, with a follow-up in 1 week. Prescribe a topical double ointment (e.g., bacitracin and polymyxin B) because it is a localized abscess. Initial therapy comprises incision and drainage, and an antibiotic prescribed for 5-10 days when a culture report is available.
