Problem: Respond to this statement: The patient has Bipolar Depression and received a new diagnosis of Gambling (F63.0). Has had significant issues with money management and friend relationships. She is being treated, and also, to help with the urges, her olanzapine (Zyprexa) dosage was increased. The patient stated that weight gain was due to the medication, but no common side effects were noted. Also, the patient recently got an increase in medication to treat Hypothyroidism, which could cause weight issues. The preceptor stated that, at times, habits can change from one to another. Patients are currently starting to eat more and have gained 10 pounds in the last 2 months as gambling is being decreased. Also, the patient states that she has paid all of her bills for July, which is the first time in a long while she states.
