Your patient: George Stuart is a 47 year old male who was admitted after an appendectomy 2 days ago. Mr. Stuart lives at home with his wife and 2 children. He states he had sharp right sided pain in his abdomen and a fever. He has a medical history including diabetes type 1, and gallstones. Heath History and Physical Exam: Vital signs: BP 122/78, HR 52, Resp. 16, O2 99% on RA, Temp. 101.0 orally. During report you become aware that Mr. Stuart has IV antibiotics ordered every 8 hours. He is also ordered acetaminophen every 6 hours for fever and pain, and Oxycodone for pain greater than a 6/10. His max temperature was 102.3 and minimum was 99.5 During your physical exam, Mr. Stuart reports that his pain is a 3/10 and he does not think he needs any pain medication.
