Pathophysiology
The exact mechanism of glomerulonephritis is still under investigation. The dies'ease is characterised by deposition of immune complexes consisting of antigen antibody reaction and some components of complements. These mateials become trapped in glomerular capillary loops. The glomerulus become edematous and bloodless with the resulting infiltration process and there is decrease in filtration of plasma. This decrease in filtration results in increased retention of water and sodium which further leads to circulatory congestion and edema.
